Huge thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery! // June 25 2012

We are delighted that we have been chosen by the People’s Postcode Lottery to receive 10 FREE 26” TV’s for our customers! Brighter Futures was selected as one of five local charities to receive the TV’s as part of their Summer of Sport Giveaway. The gift couldn’t have come at a better time - we are currently renovating a nine bed-roomed property where people with learning disabilities will move into within the next few months. National Falls Awareness Week // June 21 2012

Safe and Sound offers support to just over 100 people at any one to improve or maintain their independence. Safe and Sound ensures that people are able to live as independently for as long as possible in their own homes.

The team works closely with a wide range of community partner agencies to help people to stay safe and comfortable in homes that meet their needs. They can also help to find more suitable accommodation, or help to have existing homes adapted to reduce the risk of falls.

Safe and Sound can also help customers to get home and fire safety checks done and to have assistive technology such as Lifeline installed to help improve home safety.

Julie Worrall, manager of Safe and Sound said, ‘A lot of our customers are at a higher risk of falling due to their reduced mobility or problems within the house. This may lead them to being hospitalised and in some cases unable to return to their own home. Safe and Sound works in partnership with other agencies to make sure that customer’s homes are as safe as they can be to reduce this risk.’
