Property Services

A professional, efficient team providing you with a high quality, comfortable home

We decorate, furnish and maintain Brighter Futures properties. We work to a very high standard making sure that everything in your home works as it should and that it looks and feels modern and homely.

What can we do for you?

If anything in your home breaks, stops working or needs replacing we will arrange for someone, either from our team or from another company to solve your problem as quickly as possible.

 How do you contact us?

When you discover you have a problem with something in your home you should contact your support worker in the usual way. If this occurs outside of normal office hours and is an emergency e.g. your toilet is blocked, you have no water, electricity, heating etc. You can contact the on-call team on 01782 406000.

Please note that out of office hours an external contractor may carry out any necessary work in your home. If your problem is not urgent e.g. the handle has come off a cupboard, a light-bulb has blown, please wait until the next working day to report it.

 What happens next?

After you have spoken to your support worker they will contact us to tell us about your problem. We will then assess how urgent your problem is and add it to our list. Usually we will aim to respond to an emergency within 24 hours and to all requests within five working days but this could be longer if we are using another company or if we have to order a part.

We will call you to arrange a suitable time to visit your property. We will also tell you who will be coming.

If someone from Property Services comes to your home you can expect them to be wearing blue trousers and polo shirt with the Brighter Futures logo on it. They will also show you an identification card before entering your home. Sometimes (but not always) they will have arrived in a Brighter Futures' van.

If you are at all suspicious about someone calling at your house do not open the door to them and call your support worker immediately. Remember, we will always contact you first to arrange a visit and we will always show you an identification badge before coming into your home.

 How are we doing?

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, professional and efficient team who always strive to do the best job we can. To make sure that we are doing this and to find out how to improve our service we would be grateful if you would complete a short questionnaire about the service you received from us. Otherwise, if at any time you would like to make comments or suggestions about the quality and maintenance of your home, please speak to your support worker who will pass on the information to us.
