No.90 offers emergency accommodation to single homeless people who are aged 16-65. Priority is given to people who are rough sleeping or women involved in prostitution. However we do accept referrals from anyone who considers themselves to be homeless, the probation service, social services adult departments, local authority housing teams and other agencies who may be working with people in housing need.
It is our aim that people progress through the scheme prior to moving into their own home. On arrival customers are provided with full board accommodation. This includes use of a single room with washbasin, safety deposit box and a tv. All customers in this accommodation are provided with 3 meals per day. To assist people who are preparing to move on the scheme also offers rooms on a half board basis and self contained bedsits with shared bathroom facilities.
The hostel has a communal tv lounge, laundry, dining area and café. All of the accommodation has a weekly service charge that is payable by the customer. This charge covers food and amenities.
Each customer is allocated a support worker within the first week of their arrival. Their role is to help and support people address any problems they may have related to their homelessness, and to help find permanent housing. This help may also include accessing drug/alcohol services, claiming welfare benefits, registering with a GP, using mental health services, and repaying debts.
We actively encourage our customers to take part in the daily running of the scheme as we recognise the value this has in ensuring the quality of service we provide and helps people to recover a sense of self worth.
The project offers supported accommodation across North Staffordshire. We have both self contained and shared homes all of which are fully furnished and maintained to a high standard.
Everyone has a support worker who provides advice and support to help them to learn the basic skills they need to live independently.
All our programs are based on an assessment of individual needs and abilities, and are designed and agreed with the customer. The customer leads the support and we work closely with partner agencies to achieve the customer’s goals.
