This scheme supports young men who are at risk of sexual exploitation, and adult men who are involved in sex work by helping them to address their personal, social and emotional wellbeing.
If you are a good communicator, enjoy encouraging and listening to others are able to prioritise risks and assess individual needs, you may be just the person we are looking for. You will manage a case load of customers of varying age, ability and confidence. This post does involve unsociable hours.
The ability to drive is essential. Manage an active caseload of customers.
Work within child safeguarding legislation at all times.
Provide support that is accessible and tailored to meet the needs of adults involved in prostitution and young men who are the victim of or at risk of sexual exploitation.
Encourage men who are at risk to access and engage with relevant service.
Engage young people in activities that will enhance their opportunities and their skills and raise their confidence and self-esteem.
Organise plan and deliver a drop-in service for men, providing them with appropriate advice and support.
Devise and deliver a structured support plan to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of the young people, reducing the risks associated with their lives and take responsibility for reviewing and updating them.
Implement and co-ordinate the multi-agency risk assessment process to establish the level of risk and take responsibility for responding appropriately within agreed safeguarding guidelines and procedures.
Assist with devising and delivering workshops to small groups of people focussing on the issues that impact on their life, including substance misuse, health, housing and benefits.
Work directly with men who live in situations of high risk, undertaking assessments of risk, taking appropriate action to maximise the safety of the individual.
Enable men to identify the risks in their lives and to seek support and assistance to reduce and minimise these.
Attend and participate in statutory reviews and inter agency meetings in accordance with customer needs.
Attend multi-agency child protection conferences, strategy meetings and reviews for young men on behalf of the scheme and play a key role in the care planning of young men.
Promote the aims and objectives of the scheme at external meetings to ensure the work of the scheme is understood by other professional groups and service providers.
Provide information to enable effective monitoring and evaluation of service delivery against scheme targets.
To work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary sector organisations to ensure the men receive the maximum opportunity to exit prostitution in a safe and sustainable way.
