Mental Wellbeing Open Day

28/04/2008

The day was a great success

The first Brighter Futures mental wellbeing open day was held on Thursday 24th April at the American Clubhouse, Burslem. The day went really well and was busy from the start.

The sculpture workshop was held in the conservatory and with a little guidance from Neil Welch, renowned local sculptor, lots of fantastic pieces were produced. Thanks to Neil and Hayley Welch and to the two local suppliers who provided all the clay.

As always the Jam Factory brought the house down with their brilliant session and in between torrential downpours the barbeque was a great success. A big thank you to Adam and Dawn who worked in difficult conditions to provide the delicious food.

Along with holistic therapy sessions and tasters of delicious smoothies, freshly made by our two social work students, the day had a great buzz about it.

Lots of people who hadn’t been before learnt more about the brilliant services we offer to anyone with concerns about their own, or someone else’s mental wellbeing.

A fantastic photo in The Sentinel on Saturday rounded off what was a really successful day.

Thanks to everyone who worked really hard before and during the event.
