Phoenix Days & Nights

07/07/2008

New service for carers launched

This innovative, new service has been developed by the Active Carers Forum and supported by the Social Care Mental Health Carer’s Team in partnership with Brighter Futures.

Phoenix House forms part of the Safe Spaces Network, which is primarily used at weekends and was therefore available to be used for Phoenix Days & Nights.

Held every fortnight on Tuesdays, Phoenix Days runs from 9.30am until 4pm and offers a safe, social environment where people can receive complementary therapies, access information about mental health services or speak to one of the staff available.

Carers are free to use the facilities as they wish, whether this be to relax with a book in a quiet space, enjoy a coffee with other carers or take part in some of the activities available.

Phoenix Nights runs once monthly and offers four carers an overnight stay for up to two nights at no cost. A member of staff is available at all times. Meals are provided.

Overnight stays are available to carers who have received a Carer’s Assessment.
