The Community Inclusion Team is devoted to building an inclusive community who feel safe in their environment through:

• Extending choice to people about things they take part in
• Promoting social participation, trust and confidence
• Promoting safety in the home

The service is split into three areas:

• Day and work opportunities: aims to involve customers to be pro-active within the community by encouraging and supporting them to engage in social and leisure activities; gain new skills and knowledge through work or voluntary activities or work towards gaining paid employment

• Daily living training: aims to support people with the practicalities of everyday life including: benefits and budgeting; maintaining a tenancy; practical tasks in the home e.g. cooking, shopping, healthy eating and safety in the home

• Handy Help: this service is for any vulnerable person who needs basic help in improving the safety and security of their home. This help includes: a visit to assess the help required; sourcing and collecting of any materials (cost of materials to be paid by customer); all repairs and fitting of material carried out by skilled handyperson; support to approach and involve other agencies to solve problems; signposting to other services that might be of benefit to the customer
