'The Saturdays' take a look around Hidden Talents

The launch of the fifth Hidden Talents exhibition was given a very special boost when 'The Saturdays' popped in to take a look around. The girl band have been travelling the country visiting places that have benefited from money raised through Comic Relief, of which our Clubhouse Network is one. The girls are releasing the 2009 Comic Relief official single which is a cover of Depeche Mode’s ‘Just can’t get enough’. They spent an hour looking around the exhibition and chatted to artists about their work. All the girls showed a genuine interest in the work and the artists which truly made everyone’s day.
Big thanks to ‘The Saturdays’ and good luck with the single!
Hidden Talents is now open to the general public until 26th April 2009 at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
58 artists from schemes including The Clubhouse Network, Safe Spaces, ECHO, 90 Hope Street and Women’s Services have got work on display in the exhibition which has free entry and will run until 26th April 2009.
Zoë Best, Brighter Futures’ art co-ordinator said, ‘This is our fifth Hidden Talents exhibition and it just gets bigger and better every time. The artists who have produced the work have various problems and issues which leave them struggling to express their emotions and feelings.
Through the workshops, we encourage people to use whichever medium they are comfortable with to help unlock these emotions and hopefully, to feel better. The quality of the work is absolutely amazing and we’ve had difficult decisions to make with regards to which pieces make it into the exhibition, but the result is a fantastic display of talent which has something for all the family to enjoy.’
Zoë will regularly be taking groups to see the exhibition and we will also be holding two art workshops at the museum during its run. For more information please contact Zoë on 01782 835220.
