safe and sound the new FREE service to support older people offically launches today

safe and sound is a new service that offers FREE support to anyone over the age of 55 who lives in Stoke-on-Trent.

The service provides practical and emotional support to people who may be at risk of losing their home whatever the circumstances.

The team will listen to you and together you will work out what and how to make your life safer and easier. We can support you with debt and energy problems, meeting new people or keeping in touch with friends and family, health issues and emotional support.

You can refer yourself or ask someone who you know to contact us for more information on 01782 683166.

We will be holding a launch event at the WRVS centre, Charles Street, Hanley on Friday 6th November 2009 between 1pm - 4pm. Lots of other services that can help will be there such as Beat the Cold, Changes and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue. There will be a FREE 'afternoon tea' throughout the event and the choir from Burnwood Community School will be performing.

For more information about the event please contact Emma Robertson on 01782 683168.
