We’re incredibly grateful to the North Staffordshire Soroptimist Club (SINS) for their continued support of the women we work with at Orchid Women’s Services.

In November 2024, the Soroptimists applied for funding on our behalf, and we’re delighted to share that their application was successful.

Thanks to their efforts, we’ve received £4,760.50 from The Leek Building Society Charitable Foundation.

This funding is being used to provide clothing and packed lunches for homeless women who come to us in need. These may sound like small things—but for the women we support, having clean clothes and a decent meal can mean the world. It’s about warmth, dignity, and knowing someone cares.

Alongside this, the Soroptimist Club has been collecting gently used clothes, shoes, and toiletries, helping us to meet practical needs with kindness. A special thank you to Anuja Tyagi, Sandra Goyne, and Helen Champenois, who are leading this project, and to all the Club members and their families who’ve donated.

Club President, Helen Champenois shared:

“We are passionate about supporting women and girls, especially those facing hardship. This funding means clean, warm clothing and regular meals for women who might otherwise go without. It really can change lives.”
